Yogyakarta Soccer Game

Yesterday was Yogyakarta's birthday.  Melissa and I heard there was a celebration, some sort of show or something.   We then hear it's a carnival.  We finally end up at the destination and it winds up being a soccer game.  When Melis and I set out on the town of Yogya we have learned to expect the unexpected, to roll with the punches.  Information is spread heavily through word of mouth, many events or happenings are hard, if not impossible, to find on the web so we have learned to go with the flow.  The soccer game was a pleasant surprise.

I merged 4 photographs for this panoramic shot.  Click on the picture to enlarge it.

  1. Seems like smart phones could help with getting an accurate word out quickly. Attendance at that soccer game is more than what the Raiders are getting in Oakland.

  2. And is more than the Chargers are going to get unless they get their act together!

  3. That's like the old game of "telephone" - where someone starts a message and each person passes it on to the next person and by the time it reaches the 12th person, the message is totally changed. Actually, a soccer game is not too far removed from celebration or show. And as you both noted, perhaps more attended than Raiders or Chargers games!

    Nice photo :-)
